Love is possibly the most misunderstood and misquoted term I have come across in my life. Billions have been made and spent for what is presumed to be the emotion dearest to mankind. Everyone seems to understand love really well in their own way, ask a 14 year old and ask a 70 year old. Both will give you their versions. Despite the best forms of communication, which includes poetry, tears and emotional connect; I am not sure if some basics of love are clearly understood. I will make another honest attempt today on my version.
Love Is Liberating: We often keep out darkest grey zones to ourselves. Our craziest one night stand or curiosities of female anatomy or a gas emitting bum. If your partner and you don’t find absolute liberation and the openness to bare open your grey, it isn’t love. You may be judged before falling in love and not after. Love is an open sky. To be in love is to be on the wing. But certainly, the unbounded sky creates fear. Love will demolish egos, and to drop the ego is very painful because we have been taught to cultivate the ego. We think the ego is our only treasure. We have been protecting it, we have been decorating it, we have been continuously polishing it, and when love knocks on the door, all that is needed to fall in love is to put aside the ego’ certainly it is painful
Love is a Verb : There is a never a “Happily Ever after” in love. There is a no Pinnacle to be reached. You create one every day. You Live love every day and evolve . if you are not evolving in love every day, you are seeing the beginning of the end. Love is like water. Still water breeds reptiles. Keep it flowing. Discover new aspects and create new ones every day. It is “present continuous”. Love has “from here on” term for a start date. It doesn’t have an end date. If it has a “best before” date, it isn’t love. It is a contractual agreement, due to expire. Love has no end date.
Love is Painful: Love is painful because it creates the way for bliss. Love is painful because it transforms. Love is mutation. Each transformation is going to be painful because the old has to be left for the new. The old is familiar, secure, safe, the new is absolutely unknown. You will be moving in an uncharted ocean. You cannot use your mind with the new’ with the old, the mind is skillful. The mind can function only with the old’ with the new, the mind is utterly useless. Hence, fear arises, and leaving the old, comfortable, safe world, the world of convenience, pain arises. It is the same pain that the child feels when he comes out of the womb of the mother. It is the same pain that the bird feels when he comes out of the egg. It is the same pain that the bird will feel when he will try for the first time to be on the wing. The fear of the unknown, and the security of the known, the insecurity of the unknown, the unpredictability of the unknown, makes one very much frightened and because the transformation is going to be from the self towards a state of no-self, agony is very deep. But you cannot have ecstasy without going through agony. If the gold wants to be purified, it has to pass through fire .
